Graduation Ball

From the entrance music at the beginning of the night right through to the final song at 1am we had an absolute blast performing for the sixth formers and their parents at Queenswood Girls School; our second year in a row. We love events like this as they allow us to perform a diverse range of songs aimed across the generations, catering for the girls and their parents too. On what turned out to be the hottest day of the year, this was one crazy party!

We transformed the inside of the marquee to match the black & white, masquerade ball theme. As well as showcasing the band the staging had to host speeches and games throughout the evening. We built a split tier stage leaving the lower tier free for the various presentations and provided wireless microphones for the speeches. Working with Jamie at Herts and Essex marquees we leveled out the considerably uneven ground beneath the marquee and provided an enormous 40 by 20 foot starlit dance floor, stunning!

There was only ever going to be one approach here... back-to-back entertainment. We began the music as the girls first entered the marquee and as expected they headed straight for the dance floor. With much to celebrate we kept the music going during courses, with our DJ and in-between mains and starters with the full band, it certainly made for a lively and engaging dinner service.

As soon as the formalities had concluded we performed a solid 2 hour party set. Back to back music, no gaps. Just party, party, party with wall-to-wall bangers. The photos speak for themselves!

We love to interact with the guests and several of them made the stage their home for the night dancing and partying alongside the band song after song. A big shout out to our lighting team for the incredibly vibrant light show. Every second of it mixed live on our state of the art Avolites lighting console. We are dedicated to producing stunning results each time, therefore we provide all of our production in-house and own everything you see.

We absolutely love working in 1-night-only marquees. They are blank canvases free from 'venue' regulations that can set limits. With so much at our disposal - smoke machines, confetti cannons, no sound limiters, etc - we can create something truly special, with the greatest limiting factor ultimately being imagination!

What an awesome party this was, we were absolutley roasting start-to-finish, but that didn't stop the music flowing from either the band or our DJ. As we were cooling down post-party we were booked on the spot for the following years ball, to be our 3rd at Queenswood, what an honour.
